Challenges

I was given an outdated design of the web app which needed redesigning badly.

Traditionally, home buyers rely on static model home images or visit physical showrooms with limited configurations. The challenge was to create an intuitive digital solution where users could select a plot, customize their home’s exterior, and visualize the final structure in its intended environment—all while keeping the interface accessible for a non-tech-savvy audience aged 30-60.

Additionally, the company needed a dashboard to allow communities to create, request, and track the status of their orders efficiently.

Old Design

Solution

We designed an immersive web-based configurator that leverages 360-degree street-level imagery and real-time 3D rendering. Key features include:

  • Home Visualization: Users can toggle between an empty plot and a fully rendered home.

  • Customizable Features: Buyers can filter by model, number of bedrooms, garage space, and exterior finishes.

  • Interactive Environment Controls: Options to switch between different times of the day and weather conditions.

  • Seamless Inquiry Process: A built-in contact form allows users to submit their chosen configuration directly to home builders.

In addition to the configurator, we created a Community Management Dashboard, which enables users to:

  • Create and submit requests for community-related orders.

  • Track order progress with real-time status updates.

  • Provide feedback and communicate directly within the system.

  • View detailed location-based data via an interactive map interface.

Design Process

1. Research & Discovery

  • Conducted user interviews and analyzed behavior patterns to identify pain points in the old design.

  • Studied successful configurator interfaces, including car customization tools, to inform a more intuitive experience.

2. Wireframing & Prototyping

  • Created new low-fidelity wireframes to establish an improved interaction flow.

  • Developed interactive prototypes to validate design choices through usability testing.

3. UI/UX Redesign

  • Designed a clean, modern, and accessible interface with enhanced visual hierarchy.

  • Optimized for mobile responsiveness to ensure a seamless experience across devices.
